Jobs and Gates: The Video (Includes Clip)
UPDATE: The entire hour and a half session is now available for download on the iTunes Music Store, both video or audio only.
For those who couldn't make it to D: All Things Digital last night to see Apple (AAPL)'s Steve Jobs and Microsoft's (MSFT) Bill Gates share the stage, the Wall Street Journal has kindly made extensive video clips available here for free (no subscription required).
The files, which stream pretty quickly, come in nine parts, starting with the prologue—a compilation of old clips of Jobs and Gates looking shockingly boyish—and ending with a highlight reel.
There are lots of good write-ups on the meeting, which made up in nostagia for what lacked in news and fireworks. See, for example, the kiss-by-kiss summary by AllThingsD.com's John Paczkowski here and Josh Quittner's commentary here.
The prologue clip is pasted below, courtesy of All Things Digital:
I thought they would start with "Hi, I'm a Mac" and "Hi, I'm a PC."

My main question is whether Apple will be able to produce enough on its own to satisfy anticipated or unexpected boosts in demands. Apple had a bad, bad, bad, bad track of running out of stock and frustrating shareholders in untold lost earnings due to shortages etc. Apple always insists on making everything all by itself with shortages included. Consumers has short attention spans. iPods might be easier to produce than iPhones. Apple might fall on its face from shortages. Someone better get ready to sue Apple if it does that ridiculous act all over again with that stock price already in the stratosphere!! Steve Jobs got to obey shareholders!!!!

Have we ever run out of AMD chips? For example? Why? Because AMD already has licensed several manufacturers to produce AMD chips to satisfy demand if ever arises. Apple and Steve Jobs got to do that or it will be a real scandal and Steve Jobs will have to be taken to the courts for stiffing shareholders . Steve Jobs got to pay real close attention to shareholders. SEC , you better get ready to fuzz Steve Jobs and handcuff him and throw him in jail for screwing around with sharehodlers like before.
